History of A & B Auto Parts
Honoring Our Founder: Howard “Bill” Haynes
A & B Auto Parts began in 1995, built on the vision and work ethic of its founder, Howard “Bill” W. Haynes. Bill didn’t set out to create just another salvage yard — he built a place where people could find honest help, fair prices, and the parts they needed to keep their lives moving.
Bill grew the business from the ground up with the kind of determination that doesn’t ask for attention. He learned the rhythms of the salvage trade the hard way: early mornings, long days, and a commitment to doing the job right even when no one was watching. Over the years, he turned A & B into a cornerstone of the Trotwood automotive community — a place known for reliability, straightforward service, and a no-nonsense approach to helping customers.
What started as a small operation gradually expanded into one of the Miami Valley’s most trusted full-service salvage yards. Bill believed every car still had something useful left in it, and every customer deserved a fair shake. That mindset shaped the culture of the business then and now.
Although Bill has passed on, his imprint lives in the daily work of A & B Auto Parts — in the way the team treats customers, in the practical problem-solving that happens out in the yard, and in the steady, community-minded presence the business maintains on Olive Road.
Today, A & B continues to grow while staying true to the values Bill built it on:
hard work, honesty, resourcefulness, and respect for the people who walk through the door.
This history page stands as a small acknowledgment of a man who built something lasting — one part, one customer, and one day at a time.
